ΤΟ ΦΙΛΟΛΟΓΙΚΟ ΠΕΡΙΟΔΙΚΟ «ΣΙΡΙΣ»

ΚΑΙ Η ΣΥΜΒΟΛΗ ΤΟΥ ΣΤΗΝ ΠΝΕΥΜΑΤΙΚΗ ΚΙΝΗΣΗ ΤΩΝ ΣΕΡΡΩΝ»

Η πνευματική ζωή μιας ακριτικής πόλης συχνά διαμορφώνεται από ποικίλους παράγοντες, οι οποίοι, σε μικρότερο ή μεγαλύτερο βαθμό, επηρεάζουν τη διαμόρφωση των συνθηκών του πολιτιστικού «γίγνεσθαι» της περιοχής.

Το επιστημονικό περιοδικό του Συνδέσμου Φιλολόγων Νομού Σερρών στην πρωτόλεια μορφή του, με την ονομασία «Λεύκωμα Φιλολογικών Εργασιών», το οποίο εκδόθηκε το 1990, αποτέλεσε το πρώτο βήμα έκφρασης των φιλόλογων καθηγητών και όχι μόνο, εφόσον έτσι τους παρείχε τη δυνατότητα να επιδείξουν το πολύπλευρο έργο τους και να το γνωστοποιήσουν στο ευρύ κοινό, συμβάλλοντας στην προαγωγή της έρευνας και τη διάδοση της έγκυρης επιστημονικής γνώσης.

Από το 1992 το περιοδικό έγινε αυτόνομο, ανανεώθηκε σε μορφή και περιεχόμενο, ενώ παράλληλα άλλαξε και τον τίτλο του σε «Σίρις», δηλώνοντας την ονομασία της πόλης των Σερρών κατά την αρχαιότητα. Συγκροτήθηκε επιπλέον Συντακτική Επιτροπή (Επιτροπή Κριτών), η οποία ανέλαβε την αξιολόγηση των υποβαλλόμενων άρθρων με συγκεκριμένα επιστημονικά κριτήρια. Στους επόμενους τόμους που εκδόθηκαν στη συνέχεια, οι εργασίες απέκτησαν πιο ποιοτικό χαρακτήρα και επιστημονική εγκυρότητα, ενώ κάλυψαν ένα ευρύ θεματικό πεδίο.

Παρότι η έκδοση δεν είχε σταθερότητα στην περιοδικότητά της, γεγονός που οφείλεται στην ελλιπή χρηματοδότηση και το συνειδητό αποκλεισμό διαφημίσεων, εξακολουθεί να παραμένει δυναμική, με γόνιμη και δημιουργική παρουσία στον ελλαδικό και ευρύτερο χώρο, προσφέροντας ένα πολύτιμο επιστημονικό πόνημα, καθώς τα άρθρα των τόμων του διατίθενται σε ψηφιακή μορφή σε πλήρες κείμενο στον ιστότοπο της Ακαδημαϊκής Βιβλιοθήκης του Τ.Ε.Ι. Σερρών.

Η συνεισφορά του περιοδικού «Σίρις» κρίνεται ιδιαίτερα σημαντική και αποτελεί παρακαταθήκη για την πολιτιστική κληρονομιά του τόπου, εφόσον συμβάλλει στην προώθηση του επιστημονικού διαλόγου και αποτελεί ένα σημείο αναφοράς για όλους όσοι ασχολούνται με τα θέματα τα οποία πραγματεύεται.

Η συγκεκριμένη μελέτη έχει ως στόχο να εξετάσει πολυδιάστατα τους τόμους που έχουν εκδοθεί, χρησιμοποιώντας την ανάλυση περιεχομένου ως μέθοδο έρευνας.

«The philological journal “SIRIS” and its contribution to the intellectual development of Serres»

The intellectual life of a border town is often affected by various factors, which have a great impact on the conditions that could determine the cultural advance and the development of the region to a small or to a large extent. The scientific journal of Philologists’ Association of Serres in its initial form, which was called “Album of Philological Essays” and was published in 1990, constituted the first step for the expression of philologists and other researchers, as they had the opportunity to demonstrate their work and to present it in public, promoting the development of the research and the propagation of the valid scientific knowledge.

Since 1992 the journal has become autonomous and it has been renewed concerning the form and the content, changing simultaneously its title to “Siris”, which signifies the name of the town of Serres during the antiquity. At the same time, an Editorial Committee (a Referees’ Committee) was created, in order to evaluate the submitted papers according to specific scientific criteria.

Thus, at the next volumes, which have been published thereafter, the articles have become more qualitative, obtaining scientific validity and covering a wide range of miscellaneous subjects from different aspects as well. Although the publication does not have stability in its periodicity, due to the insufficient financing and the intentional exclusion of advertisements, it is still considered to be dynamic and it has a vital and a creative presence all over the country, offering a valuable scientific work, as the articles of the volumes are already available in digital form on the official website of the Academic Library of the Technological Educational Institute of Serres.

The contribution of the journal “Siris” is of great significance and constitutes an essential source for the cultural heritage of the region, since it affects the cultivation of the scientific dialogue, characterized as a reference point for all the people who deal with the subjects included in the journal.

The aim of the present paper is to examine the volumes which were published and to shed light on various dimensions, using content analysis as a basic research method
